A Fantastic Weekend

Friday night we stayed home and had game night. It really is so much fun now that Carter can participate. We played Trouble and some Wizard Jr. Riley started indoor soccer Saturday but her game was not until 1:00pm. We are so used to morning games that it threw me off all day. We spent the morning cleaning and working on some projects (not very successfully even after two trips to Lowes). After her game I was able to do some shopping and then we played cards at my moms. Sunday morning my dad and I took the kids ice fishing for their first time. I was really excited to see how they did because i would love to ice fish all the time but was not sure how into it they would be. They were very excited but that means nothing once you are out there. We were out there for at least 15 minutes before they started looking for other things to do. After two hours and no fish (not even a bite) we called it quits. The good news is that neither of my kids asked if we could leave once. I was pretty happy about that and if we were getting bites or even catching fish they would have been more focused.

Carter found a dead fish on the ice when we arrived and he carried it around calling it Buddy. He put it in his pocket for a while while he was sitting on his bucket watching his fishing poles.

We spent the rest of the day at Papa and Grandma's playing with some of their cousins. We went sledding, built snowmen, Riley shot her bow, we had hot cocoa and played for hours. It was a very relaxing day.

We made two snowmen for Grandma and Papa to enjoy.
